FCPX: Audio Units (NI Guitar Rig 5) hangs startup

This is not really a question, but after some problems starting FCPX, some might find this useful.

FCPX was hanging on startup. I tried reseting preferences (Command+Option), removed fcpbundles, etc. I kept getting the spinning beach ball when starting the application. After digging into Console, I recently installed Native Instruments' Komplete Ultimate 10, and I was getting audio unit problems revolving around Guitar Rig 5.

FCPX loads these audio plugins at startup, and when starting it, due to that one plugin, it was hanging. After removing it (located in /Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Guitar Rig 5.component), FCPX started without problem.

There was a problem with Audio Units awhile back involving non-Apple AUs. The Native Instruments AUs have been fixed. I have NI Guitar Rig 5 FX and MFX and both load in FCPX. You should go into /Applications/Native Instruments/Service Center/ and launch the Service Center app and update your Native Instruments software. [Other NI software I can personally vouch for are: Absynth 5 MFX, FM8 MFX, Reaktor 6 MFX and Reaktor 5 FX (and Driver).]

Another problem is: FCPX only validates AUs once per update. No matter what changes or updates you make to your AUs, FCPX will ignore it until that next update.

To force FCPX to revalidate your AUs:

Go to Macintosh HD > Users > YourUserFolder > Library > Preferences

Find the file 'com.apple.audio.infoHelper.plist' and throw it in the trash

Relaunch FCPX. FCPX will revalidate AUs and they all should pass now.
